We are currently looking for a Upholstery technologist.

This role requires a dependable and methodical engineer who will be responsible for ensuring stable process and continuous improvement of upholstery assembly.

 

1. Responsibilities and work tasks:

  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor performance, and improve all upholstery tool and equipment used in manufacturing
  • Develop proper documentation by creating and maintaining project records, creating standard operating and care point procedures
  • Develop optimal ways to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Define work instructions for upholstery processes
  • Work closely with the whole Team, including Design, Engineering, Production and Quality Control during all phases of vehicle development
  • Set upholstery to a high standard using modern and some traditional upholstery techniques using a range of hand tools
  • Assist in creating bill of materials for the products being worked on
  • Contribute to team objectives through effective communication and teamwork and provide technical assistance where needed

 

2. Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree of Faculty of Textile Technology/Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
  • Technical competence and knowledge in Engineering with preferably 2+ years of experience; a strong working understanding of upholstery engineering, terminology, and practice in the upholstery industry with leather, fabric and foam
  • Organisation skills, initiative, good communication skills
  • Knowledge of CAD software (3DX, Catia)
  • Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as working in a small team environment

 

3. Considered as advantage:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as working in a small team environment
  • Experience with high-quality leather interiors and trim for Automotive or Aerospace applications
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturability, process design, process validation, and assembly methods
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance process, tools and methodologies
