We are currently looking for a Powertrain Test Manager to join our team in Rimac Automobili. The Test Manager is responsible for Electric Powertrain Testing within the facility. This is a multidisciplinary role and covers Motor, Inverter, Gearbox, E-Axle, and 4WD Testing. The role also covers the organization and delivery of Powertrain Testing. 

 

1. Responsibilities:

  • Test Process and Results
  • Appropriate staffing and balancing of activities to ensure timely delivery
  • Ensuring Test Team is apprised of upcoming test changes
    • Organizing teams to determine what is required for new UUT variants
  • Focusing Test Team on delivering tests
    • Deciding priority
    • Tracking the progress of testing
    • Dealing with major issues which require resolving
  • The capability of the Test Team and competencies of staff
    • Development of Test Team
    • Training of Test Team
  • Optimization of Test Process
    • Adjustment of Buffers
    • Adjustment of personnel levels
  • Delegation of tasks
  • Communication of upcoming test changes which requires new equipment to Facility and Operations Manager
  • Communication with customers
    • determining requirements for testing
    • keeping track of future projects that require changes or new hardware to enable rigging and testing
    • keeping track of future test specification changes that may require new equipment
    • Tracking, Reporting progress of test activities

 

2. Work:

  • The Test Manager is required to plan, organize and execute the test activities.
    • Organize all test activities and ensure that UUTs are tested appropriately and are generating repeatable accurate and precise results.
  • Must ensure that the customer is happy with the results and that the process meets international ISO standards.
  • Must be aware of the latest and upcoming test standards for their relevant area.
    • The Test Manager is also responsible for the assessment and test engineer support for external test houses supporting the scheduler where necessary.
  • Required to engage with the Test Facilities and Operations Manager to ensure that future requirements and planned tests are appropriately supported, and equipment can be ordered by the Test Facilities and Operations Manager.
  • The processes created for the test of the UUT must be detailed and strong enough that an external test house is able to take the procedures and be able to run the test as simple as possible.
  • Preparation of the UUT for testing externally will be done at the Prep area but it is the responsibility of the test manager to assign a test engineer to check that the UUT is ready and acceptable for test at the Rimac test facility or externally at an external facility.
  • There will also be a need to standardize the reporting for all customers and provide clear instructions to customers on what is needed for test.
  • Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of Test Beds meets requirements and expectations of customers and procedures.

  • Experience with Test Systems Operation:
    • Testing Electric Powertrains
    • Knowledge of Test Systems for testing Electric Powertrains
    • Knowledge of Test Facilities
    • Knowledge of Test Facility Processes and Procedures
  • Experience with delivery of tests to customers
  • Previous Experience in testing Electric Powertrains
  • Management of Engineering teams and projects
  • Instrumentation Methodology
  • Knowledge Six Sigma, TQM, Taguchi Methods, Lean Methodology
  • Systematic, Logical and Scientific approach to problem-solving
  • Knowledge of Electric Powertrains and their design
  • Knowledge and experience of Automotive Testing
  • Knowledge and experience of Test Process creation and optimization
