We are currently are looking for an experienced power electronics engineer to lead the inverter development for next-generation, high performance electric powertrains. As a key member of the Research and Advanced Engineering team the individual will be responsible for leading the design, development and testing of advanced prototype inverters, up to proof-of concept level. Following prototype validation, the projects will be largely handed over to delivery teams to continue development into mass production, however the Research and Advanced team will continue to support as required. The ideal candidate for the position of Power Electronics Team Lead (m/f) has a strong passion for technology and is highly innovative with a hands-on approach and broad skill set.
Lead development of next-generation power electronics prototypes and concepts utilising cutting-edge technologies and topologies
Design and analysis of prototypes including multi-level and multi-phase inverters based SiC MOSFET or GaN technologies
Responsible for overseeing a small team of both hardware and software power electronics engineers.
Alignment between all team-members and promote cross-functional teamwork
Responsible for the success of the team in meeting development targets and project milestones
Define technical resource requirements for successful project execution
Requirements generation and cascade
Supplier selection and management
Definition and execution of a test plan to validate prototype developments
Support the development of long-term product strategy
Support investment planning for the equipment and testing facilities
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
At least 5 years of professional experience in power electronics development
In-depth knowledge of topologies and state-of-the-art power electronics for automotive
Strong understanding of power devices, including WBG semiconductors
Carried out multiple power electronics projects from design to prototype validation
Experience with circuit simulation tools and PCB design
Experience with testing and validation of traction inverters
Experience supervising and leading a broad range of engineering tasks (assembly drawings, PCB layout, software development, validation testing).
Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Skilled in organization and planning
Fluent in English
