Interior Trim Engineer - Centre Console

1.Tasks:Regular tasks

Leading development of Interior Trims Systems (Dashboard, Cross car beam, centre console, HVAC duct systems)

Engineering design of Interior Trims Systems

Communicating with suppliers & internal customers

Generating 3D models, assemblies and 2D/3D drawings using 3DX Experience

Working with cross functional teams (close cooperation with Designstudio, Simulation department, Testing department, etc.)

Design and run validation testing and analysis of developed products on component and car level

Prepare prototype parts for testing

Prepare product release for series production with all necessary documentation

Define targets for new products and components

Check integration of designed system with vehicle

Generate, Author and review DFMEA documentation

 

Occasional tasks

Support other teams in their activities

Design test JIGs and assembly fixtures for testing

 

2.Responsibilities:

Responsible for components & system design, from concept initialisation, design verification to delivery on time, at cost & acceptance criteria

Collaborating with suppliers and development partners to deliver Bugatti-Rimac designs to defined technical specifications to project milestones

Ownership and management of system bill of materials

Responsible for creating & maintaining technical Specifications, DFMEAs and Design Validation Plans

Taking ownership to meet cost, weight, timing, and quality targets within design for manufacture & assembly constraints

Conduction clinics for & contributing to the technical assessment, integration, and application of appropriate technology

Ensuring the components interface as per design intent to surrounding environment

Responsible for structuring & releasing engineering data including 3D data & drawings in line with Engineering Release Timing Schedule requirements

Cooperating with the validation team in the execution and evaluation of results of component testing

Supporting vehicle development activities including test specification, parts supply, troubleshooting and post-test component evaluation

Leading robust resolutions to engineering concerns

Supporting vehicle manufacturing, launch & planning

Preparing and presenting material to support external and internal project status reviews

 

3.Skills and competencies:

Experience in interior trim design

At least 5 years of experience in automotive industry R&D office is required

Minimum BSc or BEng Automotive / Mechanical or a related field of study

Knowledge of surface modelling (GSD module in CATIA)

Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent knowledge of English

Attention to detail to ensure high level of quality

Experience in CAD software, preferably CATIA V5 or V6

Proficient MS Office

Good knowledge of overall vehicle components and functionalities

Experience with different manufacturing technologies

Basic knowledge of electronics and electrical engineering

Good understanding of GD&T

 

4.Considered as an advantage:

Experience in development of high performance, ultra-low volume, luxury vehicles

Knowledge in defining DVP requirements for testing

Knowledge of automotive homologation requirements

Basic knowledge of FEM analysis
