Infotainment Android Automotive OS Software Engineer (m/f)

We are expanding our Infotainment software team and are looking for an Android Automotive OS Engineer. You will be responsible for the development of Android based Operating System for our In-vehicle infotainment systems. This will include various hardware abstraction layers (HALs) development for Rimac infotainment hardware, driver development and driver porting from Yocto Linux for various devices and OS optimizations. You will work closely with other teams involved in Infotainment development to implement necessary features and integrate 3rd party components and solutions.

1. Main tasks & responsibilities

• Develop Android hardware abstraction layer (HALs) implementations for custom hardware (Vehicle HAL, Audio HAL, Input HAL…)
• Porting Yocto Linux drivers and functionalities to AOSP environment
• Optimization and OS improvements
• IVI hardware design validation
• Close collaboration with IVI Applications development team and HW development team

2. Requirements

• Experience with Android Automotive OS; development of Android HALs
• Familiarity with Android Build System (Make, Soong)
• Thorough knowledge of the lower layers of AOSP and the Android OS architecture
• Experience with Yocto Linux architecture, configuration, monitoring, and profiling is a plus
• Strong embedded C/C++ development skills
• Knowledge in low level communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet
• Ability to read device datasheet and implement in drivers
• Proficient in Git version control
