1. Tasks:
Regular tasks

  • Systems (Aerodynamics, Chassis, Hybrid/EV Powertrain) requirements and architecture definition (including Diagnostics) starting from the Vehicle Features and the Stakeholder requirements ​

  • Support Leads of Control Strategies in Vehicle Features definition​

  • Breaking down high-level features into systems and components level requirements​

  • System integration and testing activity in Model In the Loop (MiL), Hardware In the Loop (HiL) and Driver In the Loop (DiL) environments​

  • Close cooperation with suppliers in terms of system architecture and component design, integration and testing​

  • Support the Electrical and Network engineering team with the functional and diagnostic specification of the in-vehicle communication networks and hardwired connection during the vehicle development cycle​

  • Support Software team in the SW requirements implementation and testing​

Occasional tasks​

  • Matlab/ Excel tools creation for simulation or analysis​

  • Abroad business trips to Suppliers or Proving grounds​

 

2. Responsibilities:

  • Documenting distributed systems and sub-systems functional requirements and architecture using appropriate tools.​

  • Updating and maintaining the requirements traceability through the several phases of the systems development.​

  • Provide continuous support to Functional Safety and Cyber Security Teams.​

  • Collaborate with the rest of the Vehicle Controls  team to identify the optimal solution in term of technologies, logics and usability of the controls by Calibration team

  • Weekly meetings with Control System Integration Team Lead​

  • Alignment and shared decisions agreement

  • Liaise with Tier 1 suppliers for SW and HW of Control Systems/Components and academic research partners

 

3. Required skills and competencies:

  • Experience as a Controls or SW of HW engineer in model-based development environments within the Automotive/Motorsport industry.​
  • Experience in requirements and architecture definition and in related tools such as Polarion/Doors/Jama/Enterprise-Architect or similar.​
  • Extensive knowledge and fully understanding of embedded control systems.​
  • Experience of mainstream automotive ECU hardware and software development (V-cycle) according to ISO26262 or IEC61508 processes. ​
  • Ability to understand electrical system architecture and to handle all types of electrical signals, low voltage, high voltage, power networks and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethenet).​
  • Experience with Vector tools and Matlab/Simulink.​
  • Understanding of diagnostic protocols like UDS and OBD.

 

4. Considered as a plus:

  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE standard.​
  • Understanding of AUTOSAR concept.​
  • Experience of FMEA process and solid understanding of all Functional Safety and Cyber Security (ISO/SAE21434) implications.​
  • Systems-Engineering thinking and comprehension of interdependencies, experience with relevant tools, e.g., SysML, and multidisciplinary simulation tools understanding.​
  • Proven ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems
